LG G4 owners can now expect to update their device to the latest Android Marshmallow firmware. Korean LG G4 users have already began receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The LG G4 is LG’s flagship model for 2015 and the first LG model to receive an Android Marshmallow update. LG started the Android Marshmallow update roll out with Poland LG G4 users around the third week of October. It is fair to assume that this update release in Poland was a way of LG testing out the update and make the necessary calibrations before rolling it out globally. This means if you haven’t seen the update on your LG G4, you should expect it in the coming weeks. The roll out has seen Korea become second in line, which is not surprising, considering LG is a Korean manufacturer. LG G4 users in Korea are currently using their computers to download the Marshmallow software via the LG website to install the update to their devices. Aside from this official LG update release, XDA Developer forum has posted a stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM specifically for the LG G4 H815 variant along with installation instructions. The LG G4 H815 is the international edition of the LG G4 device, thus this ROM may have negative implications if you attempt using it on any other LG G4 variant. If you are too impatient to wait for the official Marshmallow roll out from LG, exercise caution while installing this ROM to avoid causing irreversible damages to your device.
