The latest mobile OS version, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now being rolled out for unlocked HTC One M8 devices in the US after the update was made available to HTC One M8 GPE users.The HTC One M8 was launched in March 2014 and came preloaded with Android 4.4 KitKat. The handset has since also received an Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update.Google has so far released their newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow software version to some Nexus variants and a selection of non-Nexus smartphones. A few months ago, HTC tweeted a list of devices that will receive the Marshmallow update and true to their word, two of their devices have already been confirmed to receive it.Owners of the HTC One M8 unlocked version should look out for the OTA update on their devices. Among the features, Android Marshmallow is set to bring to the One M8 include Doze mode for battery saving, App standby feature which hibernates inactive application to save on power. Android Marshmallow also allows you to save and access apps through your SD card.It has been confirmed that the HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 U.S. carriers are set to receive the update later this year or early 2016.With HTC expected to also launch the latest Sense 7 UI build Android, the Android Marshmallow update is expected to roll out for HTC One M8 users in European regions in the next two weeks.Presently, HTC One A9 is the only handset from the HTC company that came packed with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

There are several ways to locate your model number:

Option 1
On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
Option 2
Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
