Apart from the fitness aspect of wearable technology, it is the convenience that makes it such a big seller. With the seamless connection between your phone and your watch, Android OS helps you get information like notifications, calls, weather, and even certain apps right on your wrist.

However, Google plans to bring a key feature to Android Wear 2.0 devices, which is the convenience of Android Pay. While the feature is currently limited to the only device running Android Wear 2.0 (LG Watch Sport), it will roll out to dozens more than are equipped with NFC.

How to set up Android Pay on Android Wear smartwatch

Setting up Android Pay on your smartwatch is not a hassle at all since the app is automatically ported to the support Android Wear version. Once you have installed the app on your Android device which is paired to a compatible smartwatch, you will be able to see the Android Pay app icon on the smartwatch as well.

Before you begin to use Android Pay on Android Wear for payment, you need to add a card to the app. While you do this, make sure that the smartwatch is connected to your phone, so the Android Pay app on your smartwatch also gets the card details.

Once you have added the card of your choice, verify it with your bank and head over to your smartwatch. Launch the Android Pay app on your Android Wear device and tap on “add card” and choose among the cards that have been saved on your Android phone.

Once you have the card set up on the phone as well as on the smartwatch, launch the Android Pay app on your watch. Place the top edge of your smartwatch on the payment terminal and you will feel a long vibration on the watch when the payment portal is connected.

If you have multiple cards and want to change the default one before paying, simply swipe up the screen and you will be able to view the additional cards. Simply tap on the card that you want to pay with and follow the same process to complete your payment with Android Pay.
