One of the best things about your Android device is being connected to work, family, and friends all the time. But when you manage all your tasks from your smartphone, things are bound to get messy, especially when you get bombarded with notifications from every app. Luckily, a new app called Boomerang Notifications is here to save the day and help you save Android notifications and set them as reminders.
Boomerang Notifications solves the biggest loophole in Android notifications, which either asks you to deal with the notification right away or swipe them off the screen forever. This quick guide will show you how to use this app to save Android notifications and give you a second chance to deal with them.
Step 1: Download Boomerang Notifications
Head over to the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for “Boomerang Notifications”. The app has been developed by MobiSoc CU and is available for free at the moment.
Step 2: Grant Notification Access to the app
Since Boomerang Notifications will be managing all your app notifications, you need to grant it notification access. When you open the app for the first time, a quick guide will show you how to enable notification access to Boomerang from the Settings.
Press “Enable” at the bottom-right of the screen to get redirected to the Notification access tab in the Settings App. Press the toggle switch next to Boomerang and tap on “Allow” to confirm your action.
Step 3: Select the apps you want to save notifications for
Now that you have granted Boomerang notification access, the app will ask you to select your notifications saving method.
You can either choose to activate Boomerang for individual apps (which is the recommended method), or you can give the app complete control over notifications from all the apps.
Step 4: Save Android notifications and set them as reminders
Now that Boomerang is all set and ready, wait to receive a notification from your apps. When you receive a new notification, you can either tap on it to view it or swipe it left or right to dismiss it.
As soon as you perform one of these actions, a second notification will appear, asking you whether you wish to save the notification or set it as a reminder to view later. You can press “Save” to get a copy of the notification message stored in the main menu of the Boomerang app.
If you wish to set the notification as a reminder, press “Save + Reminder” to be reminded about the notification “Some time later”, “Some time tomorrow”, or “At a specific time and date”.
How useful do you find the option to save Android notifications and save them as reminders? Do you think Google should implement this feature in the future Android OS updates? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
