New messages, calendar events, alarms and other things will create notifications on your tablet. You will see an icon on the top left side of your screen when a new notification arrives. There are two categories of icons which you should be used: icons shown on the top left and icons shown on the top right. Into the top right, you will have icons for battery status, wi-fi connection and signal. Into the top left, you will have icons for notifications.
If you want to see the notifications with details, you will have to open the Notification Panel. You can do that by simply tapping the notification icon on the left. Some notifications allow you to make specific actions by tapping them from the home screen. You can access alarm and put it on repeat with a simple tap or you can snooze calendar events.

If you want to Dismiss all notifications, you just simply need to tap the Dismiss button from the panel and all the notifications will be erased from the list. If you finished your job with one notification, you can simply swipe it away.
If you want to access Settings easier, you just need to use Quick Settings. You can do that by swiping down from the top right corner of any screen. You will now be able to toggle Wi-Fi, display brightness, Settings Menu and more.
