YouTube is the world’s largest online video streaming service but with over four million views in just a day, the app lacks the capability of continuing video playbacks once you navigate to a different screen or press the home screen button. However, there are ways you can set up YouTube to play videos on your Android phone even in the background.
A paid subscription to the YouTube Red is one of the most straightforward ways for background playbacks of YouTube videos. This subscription comes with advantages such as a free subscription to Google Play Music and also blocks YouTube ads.
As the name suggests, the YT Mobile is an application ideal for your Android phone. Once you launch the app, the YouTube smartphone interface will appear and you will notice the YT Mobile app icon will pop up on the notification bar at the top of your screen.
Though the application lacks the fancy features found on the official YouTube application, its best feature is when you the home screen key is pressed. The application is simply minimized while the video continues to play in the background, even when the phone screen is locked or you decide to use another app. You have the option of tapping the application’s icon on the notification bar to easily go back to the video playing in the application.
Listen On Repeat
Listen On repeat is primarily an application that allows you to play videos on YouTube on repeat. This creative application has a ton of other functions aside from its repeat feature. You can copy the YouTube video’s link, paste it on the app then tap the side button, this will pop out a player playing the video you chose. Once you minimize or close the app, the popped out video will still be seen on the screen.
