Apart from the fancy UI change and battery optimizing features like the Doze-Mode, Android 7.0 Nougat comes with some hidden tidbits as well. One such feature is the API that allows developers to add their very own Quick Settings tile, bringing mini-app features to the notification drawer. While developers are still working on making the best out customizable Quick Settings tiles in Android Nougat, there is one interesting app here already. With the help of an app called Quick Settings Calculator, you can make calculations and solve math problems from any screen of your Android device.

Step 1: Download the Quick Settings Calculator app

First and foremost, being a Nougat-oriented app, it works only on devices running Android 7.0 or higher. Simply look up “Quick Settings Calculator” by Arno den Hond in the Google Play Store, or download the app directly to your device using the link given below.

Step 2: Add new calculator tile to Quick Settings

Once you have installed the app, you don’t even need to launch it to get started with it. Simply slide down twice to bring down the entire Quick Settings panel and tap on the “Edit” button on the top-right corner of the window. From the new window that pops up, scroll down all the way to find a tile called “QS Calc”. Simply hold and press on the tile and drag it to the darker gray area of the Quick Settings window and drop it into the place. If you add the QS Calc tile to the first five slots, you will be able to access it directly from the notification tray.

Step 3: Solve math calculations from the notification window

Now that you have added the Quick Settings Calculator to its place, simply swipe down on the screen and tap on the icon to activate it. You will now be able to see a notification “QS CALC” on the notification panel, which you can tap to bring up the keypad.Go ahead and use the keypad to perform complex calculations and enjoy a calculator right at your fingertips.
