It’s not unusual for people to not know what name or model their Samsung smartphone is. Maybe you just bought it during that promotion at the local electronics shop, or maybe someone close to you bought it as a gift. Of course, it’s a great phone. You like it, and it does a lot of things for you. But for one reason or the other, you’re going to need to know what name or model your Samsung cell phone is. In this article, we look at the most effective ways to know what model (or name) your Samsung smartphone is.Check the phone itself – the first option to find the name or model number of your Samsung phone is the most obvious. It might not work for all devices, but some phones just have their model number printed somewhere on their housing, more so if they were bought SIM free. If you however purchased your device from the network, it is probable its name was replaced with the network’s logo or name. If this approach doesn’t work, try the next one below.Check the box – the packaging box in which you purchased your Samsung phone offers a treasure trove of information, including a manual and a user guide. It’s good to keep these once you get the phone out – a lot of people do. Your model number and phone’s name will be somewhere on the box, along with a series of barcodes. You’ll also find the name and model of your Samsung phone on the cover of the user guide. If you however lost this box, try the next option below.Check from the settings app - navigate to the settings app of your Samsung phone, and then to About Phone, or something along those lines. You’ll be able to find a listing of information on your device, including its name and model number. If you can’t see an About Phone section, hunt around the settings menu to see whether you can get some relevant option. If your Android operating system however does not provide this information, it’s time to try the last option.Check the phone - this is the last way you get to find the name and model of your Samsung phone. You’ll have to remove the back cover and pluck out the battery, so you need to make sure that the device is off first. Mostly, this information will be contained on a white sticker with barcodes on it.With these methods, you should be able to find the name and model number of your Samsung device and that will give you some comfort and peace of mind. You will also be able to use your specific device name when looking for rooting information, apps tips and usage help online.
