Learning how to enable the facial detection features for the Samsung Galaxy S4 allows users to discover further access and use of facial recognition technologies. Samsung Galaxy S4 has a front-facing camera which can be used. The many features that come with facial detection allow the user to better enhance their photo experiences. Some of these elements include: smart rotation, facial unlock, smart pause, smart scroll, smart stay and smart pause.
The facial detection unlock feature is also a security feature which comes with Samsung Galaxy S4. Setting up this feature is important to protect your device further by face unlock rather than using a password or PIN. Within the Samsung Galaxy S4 interface, the user will have to locate the “apps” icon. Once found, touch the apps icon and then scroll to the settings button. Touch the “settings” button and then touch “my device”. There should be another option to touch “lock screen”. When the touch lock screen is enabled, the “face unlock” icon should be pressed. It is important to read through the warning information and then touch next to touch face unlock.
After this step is selected, then touch “continue”. There will be a circle which is dotted in pattern on the users screen. The user will then have to hold the device to scan their face within the dotted circle pattern. The face should then be captured. The user should touch continue and then select a backup option such as “password” or “PIN” in case face unlock will not be available to unlock the device.

Using smart scroll lets the use get a better sense of what is behind the camera device in terms of element. The user could also scroll through web pages, messages and lists at any angle they wish to use. Activating the smart scroll is simple. From the home screen, just press “menu” to “settings”. Then under settings, find the “my device” option and then go to “smart screen”. When under smart screen the user will then be navigated to the smart scroll feature. Just simply turn this feature on to the green light and adjust as needed.
The smart rotation feature allows users to lay down in position and use this feature to see the element from right side up. This functionality integrates well with the smart pause feature. To best use smart pause, clicking on pause will allow better focus when taking photos. The Samsung Galaxy S4 also includes a lighting feature. To use this feature, simply unlock the smartphone which is found within the facial detection area.
