Whether you are applying for a loan, filling out a college application form or legal documents, digital documents have been the growing trend for a while now. How many times have you found yourself losing your mind over some important documents that you had to sign? Rather than spending your leisure hours on running around, printing, and scanning the papers, your Android phone can help you digitally sign documents and make your life so much simpler.
There are tons of apps that you can try out, but the Adobe Fill & Sign DC is hands down, the most popular one out there. So here’s a simple guide on how to digitally sign documents right from you Android with the Adobe Fill & Sign DC app.
Adding the document that you want to sign
To get started, download the Adobe Fill & Sign DC Android app from the Google Play Store here. Once you have downloaded the app, click on the app icon and tap on “Select a form to fill out”. You can select a document file from your Android device’s storage, from the web, or from the camera storage.

If you wish to sign a physical document, you can also choose to “Take a Picture” from the app menu. When taking a picture of the document, simply take the picture, click on “Use Photo”, and use the “Crop” tool at the bottom of the app screen to crop the margin of the document in the picture. To give the picture a professional look, click on the “Wand” icon to clean the image.
Filling out the Documents
To fill out the digital documents, simply tap anywhere on the page to create a field, or you can tap and hold to create annotations. For instance, to add a checkmark, simple press and hold over the empty box and select the annotations that pop up in the window.
Finally getting down to business, tap on the “Signature” button at the bottom menu tray in the app to add your signature to the digital document. You can simply use your finger to sign the document, although a stylus would be a better choice if you aren’t a pro at signing digital documents.
Personalizing the app for future use
If you’re in love with the simplicity of signing digital documents from your Android device, you can fill in your Profile to make things even simpler next time. Press the “Profile” button at the bottom of the screen and fill out all the values, such as name, date, address, contact information, etc. Now the next time you use Adobe Fill & Sign DC, you can use the information from your profile to fill up your documents automatically.
Share your digitally signed documents
Once you have completed filling out the form and putting in your digital signature from Android, just click on the “Share” button and email your documents right away.
The best part about digitally signing documents with your Android is the number of different apps you can use to do it. Adobe provides the ability to digitally sign documents with all of their apps, including the Adobe PDF reader. If you aren’t a fan of Adobe, you can also use other free Android apps like Fill and Sign PDF and DocuSign to get the job done.
