As much as we love to download applications to improve our smartphone experience, having unnecessary apps installed not only takes up space on your space but can also affect the performance and battery power consumption on your device. Here are a few apps you should remove form your Android phone as soon as possible.
Facebook
The Facebook app is a great tool to constantly keep you connected to your loved ones as well as old and new acquaintances. From birthday alerts, status updates notifications to messages, Facebook keep you updated on almost everything. However, this continuous connection has its shortcomings. Aside from Facebook app being annoying at times it also drains much of your phone’s battery life. You can resolve this by instead, setting up a shortcut on your homepage that redirects you to the Facebook website. This consumes less of your system’s resources but allows you to also easily access all the Facebook content when you need to.
Weather Widgets and Apps
Weather apps are useful when it comes to checking out what the day’s weather will be, which helps in deciding what to wear or plan for the day. However, some of these apps or widgets can be battery-hoarders.Weather apps are constantly updated to offer the most accurate and real-time information. To prevent this, you can limit the frequency the apps refresh in the specific app’s settings, to only when you come in contact with them. To boost your phone’s battery life clear the weather widgets from your home screen.Or also consider completely removing all the weather apps, and using “OK, Google” as an alternative to get weather updates when you need to.
Anti-Virus Security apps
Whether or not we need to have an Anti-virus app installed on our devices is still a debate. Android phones are built with the capacity for protection against attacks while encrypting your phone. Google also ensures that no harmful apps can be accessed from the Play Store, which guarantee your device’s safety.Just ensure you are aware of the dangers of downloading files and apps from unknown sources and you’ll no longer have need for power-draining anti-virus apps.
Cleaning apps such as Clean Master
A cleaning app is developed for the purpose of cleaning your device in an effort to enhance performance. While some cleaner apps are effective, it is not really necessary to have them installed on your phone. You can simply head over to
Settings >>
Storage >> select
Cached data and then confirm
Clear cached data. You could also clear cached data for individual apps by navigating to
Settings then the
Apps section, tap the
Downloaded tab and select the app, simply tap
Clear Cache. This works pretty much the same as with the Clean Master app without the huge battery drain and data consumption from the in-app ads.
The Default browser app
The Google Play Store offers much better and more secure browser app alternatives to the default Android web browser. Look up an Android browser app from the variety of choices available in the Play Store, once you have it installed, head to your
