When Motorola was purchased by Lenovo, experts suspected that it would be the end of the brand that once ruled the mobile market. However, the brand has flourished in the past couple of years, now with the availability of Android Nougat for Moto G4 and G4 Plus.

There were reports leaked earlier that Motorola is soak testing Android Nougat for Moto G4 and G4 Plus. Since almost all OEM Android brands have their own version of Android Nougat in the works, the new seems anything but normal.

“We are excited to announce a new software update for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus by Motorola. This update brings Android™ 7.0 Nougat to your phone along with other improvements.”

But the fact that Motorola’s budget flagship devices of the year – Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are the first in line to receive the latest version Android, is an impressive feat. Surprisingly, the flagship device Moto Z and its variants are still waiting for their dose of Android Nougat.
