Once you are on the video camera mode of the Google Pixel, tap on the button with the red circle to begin recording a video. Once you press the record button, you will be able to see the camera button right above it.
By pressing the Camera icon on top of the Recording button, you can quickly take a picture within the video itself. The image will automatically be saved to your gallery, and you can stop by press the record button once again.
