Galaxy Note 3 was first launched with an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Users of the Note 3 phablet can currently update to the official Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, Galaxy Note 3 owners specifically those with the SM-N9005 model, can now install custom ROM based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop by Phronesis firmware. Before users can begin the installation process, ensure that the Note 3 is the SM-N9005 which is compatible with the Phronesis Custom ROM. Have a recovery tool to back up all your smartphones’ data and stored settings. Some options include TeamWin Recovery Project and ClockWorkMod Recovery. Now, you can download the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Phronesis custom ROM and Google Apps zip files onto your computer. Using a cable, connect your Galaxy Note 3 and save the files on the SD card.Switch off your phone, then disconnect it from the PC. Press Volume Up, Power and Home buttons to turn to Recovery mode.Delete all the data on your Note 3 device by selecting ‘wipe cache partition’. Afterwards choose “install zip from SD card” option to select Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Phronesis custom ROM and thereafter the GApps zip file stored in the sdcard.Once the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM installation is complete, restart the Note 3 Galaxy, by selecting the “reboot system now” on the recovery screen.
