It is recommended that you perform a full wipe before the installation. If anything goes wrong after installing CyanogenMod 10.1 M2, you can return to your previous ROM using the Nandroid you made.How to install CyanogenMod 10.1 M2 based on Android 4.2.2 on Samsung Galaxy Nexus Verizon:
  1. Connect Samsung Galaxy Nexus Verizon to the computer and move and Google Apps on the Sd card (don't extract).
  2. Disconnect and turn off the device.
  3. Boot the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Verizon in Recovery Mode (Search for the key combination for your device)
  4. Select Wipe data/factory reset and then Format/system.
  5. Select Install zip from sd card and choose from the sd card, then press Install.
  6. Wait for the installation on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus Verizon to finish and then repeat the process for Google Apps.
  7. Select Wipe Cache partition and Wipe dalvik cache.
  8. Reboot.
You should now have CyanogenMod 10.1 M2 installed on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus Verizon and ready to use. Use the Nandroid backup to return to your previous ROM in case there is something wrong.

What's my model number?

There are several ways to locate your model number:

Option 1
On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
Option 2
Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
Option 3
Using Samsung's model/serial number location tool
