YouTube has been a long-standing choice app for those who love streaming videos on the go. Despite its success, the app hasn’t stopped improving users’ experience on the app. This time around YouTube is updated its mobile app to bring a refreshed, less cluttered look on its home screen. The YouTube app’s home screen is much more user-friendly, with only two videos taking up entire screen space, adding a cleaner and smoother look all round. Perhaps people will now spend more time looking through their recommended videos, rather than straight away going for the search button or their subscriptions.
The update has already been made live, therefore check if your YouTube app is boasting the awesome new features.
Aside from the home screen redesign, the YouTube app now uses algorithms to recommend videos. This means that the app will only show you videos that are relevant and personalized to your interests. The YouTube app features larger thumbnails to display recommended videos, which YouTube says takes advantage of a deep neural network technology that keeps track of your preferences in terms of the videos you watch or search to bring you never seen before videos that you might enjoy.
According to the YouTube company, users who tested this update version, spent most of their time watching new videos from those they had subscribed to.
