There are various reasons why you might want to hide text messages or call logs from your Smartphone. For instance, you might have something mysterious going on and don’t intend others to know.  This is more so true for young people. The good news though is that you don’t have to hide your phone and act suspiciously. There’s no shortage of good android apps to hide any data that you consider private, be it instant messages, contact numbers, dialogs, call logs, etc.

1)     Private SMS & Call – Hide Text

This is a fantastic privacy app that creates a safe space for you called PrivateSpace. The initial setup of the app is very simple. You just need to enter a PIN-based lock, which you can use anytime you need to get into the app. It’s also possible to hide this application from the app drawer. Once it’s installed on your Smartphone, all you need to do is import your contacts, which will then be labeled as private. There’s an option to hide any contact from your system address book. Any message that you send or receive from private contacts will be stored in PrivateSpace. More so, you can hide calls logs or blog calls at awkward times from select contacts. Whenever a message streams into your phone through this app, you’ll be alerted through a random notification that you select yourself.

2)     Go SMS Pro

This is one of the most popular messaging apps available on the Google Play Store. It’s used by more than a 100 million users and provides a rich arsenal of customization options. The app has an intriguing user interface and overall feel. It doubles app as an effective text message hider. You’ll be able to add contacts to a private box so that all upcoming communications with these people will show here. To make sure that no one else figures out what you’re up to, you’re able to hide the private box icon from within the app. If you’re not too happy with the stock messenger app (or any other messaging app that you might be using), this is a great alternative.

3)     Calculator

This is the perfect cover for hiding your text messages. The app looks and works as a calculator on the outside but is a messaging vault on the inside. It’s very hard that you’ll raise any suspicion with this sneaky app. To access the hidden messaging vault, you’ll need to key in “123+=” in the calculator. This takes you to the main screen where you can mark some contacts as private. All messages and call logs from private contacts will be hidden from your Smartphone’s system and will show in the vault instead. The UI interface isn’t very interesting but the app works great to secure your complete privacy with calls and messages.

This is another great app that puts messages from certain contacts behind a secure wall. You’ll need to add certain numbers as private contacts. Any text message that you receive from these people will automatically be moved to the app. To access the contents of Private Message Box, you’ll need to feed in a PIN.
