Google Allo is a new chat application for Android that helps you say more and do more. This messaging app – that rolled out today – has the Google Assistant built-in. It does the things you expect from a messaging application to sending pictures. It also lets your express yourself better with huge emojis and text, doodles and stickers.

Google Allo account creation

Just like the Duo, users of this app need to sign up to use it. There is an option of connecting with their Gmail. This is quite helpful to those looking forward to using Google Assistant to sync through their emails.

Interface and design

This new application tends to adjust to Google’s philosophy of developing easy-to-use applications. Users will take at least 10 minutes to understand the interface. On opening Google Allo, it lets you see group chats as well as the ongoing individual.

The option button opens the app menu that lets you change your profile picture, access the app setting, and block contacts. Furthermore, in the settings menu, you find an option of linking with other Google application such as Docs, Drive, YouTube, Maps, Chrome, etc. There is also an option for linking a Google account, viewing terms of use, unregistering the number and so on.

Google Assistant

If you’ve chat bots on Slack, Facebook, or Skype, it won’t take you long to comprehend how Google Assistant works on Google Allo. This inbuilt virtual assistant integrates Search directly in your chats. Typing ‘Google’ or ‘@Google’ enables users to share the search results within their chat windows.

You will need to give this new application permission to use your location for it to bring the results. For example, if you and your best friend are making plans to watch a popular movie and want to know the popular shows playing, you only need to type in the query in the chat window to bring up results.

Chats

Moreover, it seems that Google has borrowed some chat features from other messaging applications like Instagram, WhatsApp, iMessage, Snapchat and Messenger, and integrated them into a single application. Chats on Google Allo have a bunch of stickers, emojis, stickers and much more. In addition, you have the ability to doodle images you share; this is only on Android devices.

It is worth using Allo as your main message application for all the features mentioned above. The app is tied to your number, so you can text anyone in your contact list.
