After a fair amount of time playing favorites, Apple has finally released an update for Apple Music for Android. Apple Music v0.9.8 for Android is being rolled out with not only music videos, but also Family Sharing support that the iOS counterpart has enjoyed for months. The update comes a month after the company decided to bring widget support to the android version of Apple Music.
The support for family plans to use Apple’s exclusive music streaming service comes at a price of $14.99 per month, and can be shared among six members. Bringing video content to android users is the biggest feature of the update, which brings thousands of music videos and interesting documentaries based on the music industry.
Apple has been spearheading the marketing of Apple Music with its video content, and bringing in the Android users will certainly help the cause. After releasing a new documentary series with Vice Media last month, Apple plans to add more interesting video content to its music service. The last major update that was brought to the Apple Music for android app gave users the ability to store downloaded music to SD card.
It was deemed a brave move when Apple Music entered a market which is dominated by services like Spotify and Google Play Music. However, creating a unique music and video content library might just be the wow factor that puts Apple Music at the top of the paid music service industry. If the latest video feature from Apple Music is something that makes you want to try it out, you can activate your 3-month free subscription and download Apple Music for Android right here.
