It appears that finally four of  Yu Televentures handsets including the Yureka, Yunique and  the Yuphoria are going to receive a Marshmallow update. This is after the Micromax sub-brand introduced a new initiative to allow developers to access the software to on an open basis. Efforts to work on the custom user interface termed Yu-Open-OS, come just one month after Cyanogen ended its exclusivity with the smartphone vendor.According to Rahul Sharma, Yu Televentures CEO, the project dubbed Highway was launched with an aim to encourage developers to play a part in contributing to its complete stack of mobile software, including the Android ROM, Yu's internal customizations and even chipset vendor repositories. This will in turn ensure that devices running on the Yu Open OS stay updated continuously. The project which is already live developer.yuplaygod.com, will begin with beta Marshmallow builds for Yureka, Yureka Plus, Yunique and Yuphoria. Those interested in giving the beta ROMs a try, are free to download and flash them right now. Regular users will need to wait for a stable build set to be rolled out in the within the next 30 days. For more details check out the post on Yu forums.
