Most of us have been keeping an eye on the new WhatsApp features. New Emojis

The new version contains new emoji such as Vulcan greeting for the Trekkies.The version has a nice addition to the skin tones, so that you can be racially sensitive with the geek greeting and bird flipping.

Mark WhatsApp Messages as Unread/Read

The new version gives you the option to mark conversations as read without going into it. You just have to press and hold the chat on your main screen and a pop up menu appears. At the bottom you will see this option. You can do the reverse to ‘Mark as Unread’

Google Now to Send a WhatsApp Message

This is not an update to WhatsApp application. However, it can affect how you can interact with it. You can now use the voice command to send a message to a contact. To do this, press OK Google, send a message to a contact name.

Low Data Usage

The data usage option is now found in the Calls and Chats menu within the WhatsApp settings. It affects the mobile data you consume during calls.

Mute Individual Contacts

This feature is found in the notification settings for the individual contacts. You can customize the notification sent from each contact its LED color or sound as well as muting notifications temporarily from them. Your handset will not vibrate or make a sound though you can still see the notification if you choose to.

WhatsApp Like Button

There’s a speculation that WhatsApp messenger will introduce the ‘Like’ button. We still don’t know much about this. There is nothing to say until it becomes a full featureDownload WhatsApp latest version

What's my model number?

There are several ways to locate your model number:

Option 1
On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
Option 2
Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
Option 3
Using Samsung's model/serial number location tool
