Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Redmi Note 3 global edition. The mobile company has also released the MIUI 8.1.1 update along with MIUI specific improvements and additions. The Android 6.0.1 update for this device has been in the development phase since the Redmi Note 3 was released. A beta version was availed to those who were ready to try it. However, the stable Android release was pushed back for some time to a point where other MIUI handsets were projected to get their Android Nougat update. The Marshmallow update started rolling out two weeks ago, but according to many users, it only applied to those living in India. This makes sense since India is the country where the smartphone has sold the hottest. The global Redmi Note 3 owners have been anticipating for the Android Marshmallow update after being stuck on Android Lollipop since it was launched in March. Fortunately, the global users can now update their OS to Android Marshmallow in a form of a ginormous 1.3GB update. The Update is expected to solve some bugs an issues on the Redmi Note 3.The other MIUM handsets are expected to Android Nougat in the coming months.
