The OnePlus OEM has begun pushing out the latest version of its OxygenOS to the OnePlus X. The security update referred to as the OxygenOS version 2.2.1, will bring a range of bug fixes along with critical security patches. It is important to note however, that this update will not include the Android Marshmallow. The exact Android security patch that comes as part of OnePlus X's Oxygen OS 2.2.1 was however not specified. But hopefully, it bundles the latest fixes released by Google, or at least the update makes the device as up to date as the March security patch. The OEM has also introduced a number of fixes for some of the issues that have been plaguing users of the OnePlus X device. Just to mention a few, data leaks experienced by some regions while roaming have been fixed, the issue of the microphone auto muting while using Google Hangouts, and the issue of the app drawer not launching if the Google search bar was not on the homescreen, as well other miscellaneous patches. Along with these, the APN has also been updated to support the Tigo carrier with the Google Mobile Service getting a 3.0 upgrade. Expect the OTA notification to hit your OnePlus X anytime soon, since the update is gradually rolling out across different countries.
