While some users see Android updates as something to be expected, others can only hope they’ll be seen as a priority, while others can’t even imagine that their devices would ever receive such an upgrade. Updates are not only about upgrading the software version of devices, but also bring new additional features, a variety of enhancements to the hardware, along with fixing whatever bugs that may exist.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update is no different and Lenovo Vibe S1 is one of the latest devices to be added on the list of those receiving the update. Thanks to a Tweet from Anuj Sharma who is the Head of Product and Marketing at Lenovo India, we now know that the Marshmallow 6.0 version update is rolling out to the device owners in India.

“After K3 note, A7000, Vibe P1 in the last month, Android 6.0 marshmallow OTA now rolling out for @Lenovo_in #VibeS1 . Check now”— Anuj Sharma (@s_anuj) May 3, 2016
This update comes after the Marshmallow OTA updates were also rolled out to the Lenovo K3 Note, the Lenovo Vibe PI and the A7000 last month.
As a reminder of what to the Android Marshmallow update will bring to the Lenovo Vibe S1, expect a Google Now On Tap feature which searches for information relevant to whatever is on your screen, Doze mode which optimizes battery saving while your device is on standby mode as well as configurable app permissions to give you additional control over what permissions you grant to apps; among other great features.
If you are not too keen on waiting for the OTA update notification, then head into your Settings then check under your About Device section. However note that you will have to be patient, as these OTA updates often take time to reach every single device.
