A large number of users in India reported their Xiaomi Mi Max devices over the weekend for faulty Wi-Fi connectivity. Since this is a major connectivity issue, Xiaomi has immediately rolled out an update to fix Mi Max Wi-Fi issues.
“Some Mi Max users have highlighted Wi-Fi connectivity problems on their devices over the weekend. Our engineers have identified what was causing the issues, and have immediately worked on a solution to fix this yesterday. We’re releasing an OTA update today which will rectify Wi-Fi connectivity problems for affected Mi Max users.”

Small OTA size for quick download on  Mobile data

The latest OTA is barely even the size of an image file (1.3MB), possibly made so by Xiaomi on purpose. Users will have to use their Mobile data to download the update that will fix Mi Max Wi-Fi issues. Although there are other (complicated) ways to update, we recommend using the OTA as it is much less complicated. The update is rolling out immediately and you should be able to see the notification soon. You can also manually search for the OTA update by heading over to Tools->Updater->Check for updates. You can also drop by your local Xiaomi service center and have them fix Mi Max Wi-Fi issues in minutes. We hope the small update for the Xiaomi Mi Max has fixed the Wi-Fi issues for your device.
