zThe European Union is trying harder and harder to create a single European telecom market and it seems that they found a very nice solution for those who use to travel a lot. The European Union is trying to eliminate fees with voice calls, messaging and internet access when you travel in another country. The project was voted in Brussels by the group of 27 European Commissioners. So, we are expecting this to become reality on 1 July 2014 if it will pass all meetings and agreements. The officials of the European Union will formulate official proposals in the next six weeks for the project to be applied. So, after a long period of expensive Roaming, the providers will suffer a hit as Roaming used to be a very important part of the profit. This is a great move for those who travel a lot with business and other matters. We will all enjoy the new rules and also smaller bills.
The European Union decided to create this project for a smaller fragmentation in the world of providers in the member states. In Europe, the total number of operators is around 100 and the total number in the US is only 4. Some specialist that if the list will be reduced in Europe, we will have some problems, but others consider that it is a very good move.
The plan is to create only one market to provide the services, but some operators already showed their concerns. Smaller providers will probably be absorbed by the larger ones and this is a big concern of the market. Also, the providers from the EU will compete with those from United Kingdom and other non member countries.
There will be some advantages like synchronization of national sales of airwaves and a single national operator. Also, termination rates will end and connecting calls will be possible.
