Samsung tectilesThe Galaxy S4 is a very powerful device, mostly because it has the latest technology and hardware inside. But there was one drawback that came with this, the first TecTile edition wasn't compatible with the device's NFC chip. While this wasn't such a serious issue, for some it may have been disappointing if they got used to simplifying their daily tasks using NFC tags.Luckily Samsung released a new version of TecTiles that now support the Galaxy S4. This ones cost $14.99 for a pack of 5 pieces. Galaxy S4 and other devices also use the BCM2079x NFC controller which wasn't supported by the first type of TecTiles, so basically the new ones only add support for this controller and nothing else. If you have older ones there is no reason in upgrading to this new version, unless you own a Galaxy S4.Samsung also has their own app that you can use to program the TecTiles. You can download Samsung TecTiles from Google Play. It's your decision now if you want to pay $15 for these little chips or not, whether you find them useful or not. However if you learn how to use them you can do some really cool stuff with them.
