Samsung Gear VR Heads for Best Buy for Demo and Sales

Samsung is more bold as it launches the first mobile headset, Samsung Gear VR. The Gear VR is expected to make more than 100 Best buys on March 27th. Shortly after the Gear VR announcement was made in the early September; the device had already popped out in a few locations in US. However the product vanished before it was official launched on December 2014.A couple of months ago, the handset could be purchased through Best Buy’s website though it lacked an in store presence. According to Samsung, the Gear VR will be available in more than 100 locations after it is officially released. At the beginning of the Month, Samsung had announced that the handset would be compatible with the forthcoming Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6.Gear VR is said to have better ventilation for reducing fogging and a reduced weight.  The Gear VR has seen a cautious rollout since it was launched on December last year. This was due to Oculus’ hesitation (the inventor of Gear VR) about releasing a product that was not ready for mainstream.According to Oculus, the product could have drawbacks and could only work for super optimized code. Such concerns contributed to the delay of releasing the Gear VR. The positive feedback from some Gear VR users after a soft launch triggered Oculus to have ideas in making an official launch.The CTO of Oculus, John Carmack, said that the launching of Gear VR was triggered by the funny reactions that some people liked it though the Oculus had this idea that the handset wasn’t ready to be launched. He also said that the Mobile VR was the infection vector for the VR. According to Carmack, the Gear VR would be availed widely after Samsung’s next handset cycle.Samsung’s powered handsets have a paid application store powered by Oculus so users who splurge on their phone’s accessory will have fragments of worlds to explore and multiple games to play.
