Being the flagship season, the most talked about or rather the two smartphones that most Android users are excited about are the Galaxy S7 and the LG G5. Both the two flagships are expected to bring a host of powerful specs and reinvent the smartphone market. With that in mind, which of these two is the most anticipated?

Samsung Galaxy S7: Rumored facts

Samsung has gained commercial success since the launch of its Galaxy S-series, making it a giant in the Android world. Due to this fact, the Galaxy S7 flagship seems to have become the most popular device in the Android market even before its official release.

Specs

Word on the street is that the Galaxy S7 might feature 5.2 inches of a Super AMOLED display with a 1,440 x 2,560 QHD resolution. Its Galaxy S7 counterpart the S7 Edge is predicted to have a larger 5.5-inch screen. In the US and China regions, the S7 smartphone will be bundled with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 while in Europe and Asia, it will sport a Samsung's Exynos 8890 processor.Along with the standard 32GB and 62GB internal storage variants, it will also feature 4GB of RAM. With an expected main camera of 20MP said to come low-light photography enhancements, the device battery capacity is still unknown.

Design

One of the most controversial moves by Samsung was its exclusion of the microSD support and a removable battery from its Galaxy S6 device series. However, the devices' glass and metal build design rather the typical plastic, was well received. The S7 has already given the impression that a microSD slot should be expected. It is however unlikely for the Galaxy S7 Edge. From the little we have gathered from the leaked reports, the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge will not look very different from its S6 predecessors.

Release Date and Price

As of yet, an official release date for the Galaxy S7 has not been revealed, however, if previous launch history is anything to go by then we expect Samsung to launch the flagship device just before the MWC event.Though there are rumors revealing that the Galaxy S7 isset to be at least 10% cheaper compared to the Galaxy S6, the exact figure has not yet been confirmed. Samsung is known for a US$600-US$700 price range for its flagship devices.

LG G5: Rumored Facts

On the hand, LG is slated to release its G5 flagship into the smartphone market. The company aims to gain a stamp of approval for its capacity to be on the same competitive level as the Samsung and Huawei brands, so a lot of these depends on the G5.

Specs

According to reports, the LG G5 sports a main 5.3 inches LCD display screen, with an added ticker display right above it. We already learnt that the G5 smartphone will be equipped with 2016's much awaited processor, the Snapdragon 820, an internal storage of 32GB, 3GB of RAM and microSD support for memory expansion. In terms of camera, the G5 apparently is going to take a page from its LG V10 predecessor and employ a dual-camera design. Whereas the LG V10 incorporated this feature at the front, the G5 will apply it at the back.Dual cameras come with a number of handy features along with the added advantage of capturing wide-angled shots. As for the cameras, it will feature a 5MP front shooter and a 16MP rear camera.Compared to its previous counterpart, the G5 is expected to pack a smaller battery capacity. Some are content with this especially due to its smaller screen and a better processing power while others are disappointed with the 2,880 mAh rumored capacity. As a bonus, it is said to be removable.

Design

Based on rumors, the LG G5 is quite a sight to behold with a full aluminum build quality. Usually when devices feature a metal build, they eliminate a removable battery and a microSD slot, however the LG G5 seems to have found a workaround. Supposedly, G5 will be complemented with a slide-off 'bonnet' that will allow swapping of microSD cards and batteries. The same reports, say that LG has replaced the rear-mount volume keys to the more common side-mount setup.

Release Date and Price

The official unveiling of LG G5 has been confirmed by LG to be on February 21st, right before the MWC event. The price of the LG G5 is expected to range between US$600 and US$650, although there has been no official confirmation.Which 2016 flagship do you think is the most anticipated?
