The brand new LG G4 has a huge 5.5 inch Quad HD display and a very powerful processor that will drain the removable battery quickly. The smartphone has a 6 core processor, a 16 megapixel camera and a 3 GB if RAM and video to view on the 2k screen. The LG G4’s 3000mAh battery life is larger than most handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S6. However, users are looking for ways to get more from their smartphone. If you would like a better battery life on your LG G4 and do not want to be removing the back and replacing the battery with your additional battery, you will want to change some few things.

1. Sleep Time and Screen Brightness

Having a huge screen displaying messages and playing video playback will lead to a big battery drain. Screen brightness plays a huge role in saving the battery life. Use somewhere around 30 to 40 percent screen brightness. Auto is not ideal for conserving the battery life. To change the screen brightness, go to ‘Settings’ then to ‘Display’ and ‘Brightness’ and choose your ideal brightness that will save the battery life. You also need to set a display sleep time. This sets the time how the display will stay on after you stopping your device.

2. Bluetooth, 4G LTE & WiFi

In case you are not using Bluetooth or WiFi, turn them off. If you are in a coffee shop with free WiFi, yet you are not using it, switch it off. Just go to the settings, and slide both Bluetooth and WiFi to the off position. The best way to do this is head to the ‘Settings’ to ‘General’ and then to ‘Smart settings’. Tweak when you want the WiFi to be on and off. You can choose to turn on Bluetooth when driving to connect to the hands free stereos and off when it is not needed.

3. Control GPS and Location Services

When your LG G4 uses GPS for Navigation or Google Maps, the device will experience a huge battery drain. To have a total control of the GPS aspects, go to Settings to General to Location and then to mode and select Battery saving. You can also turn the GPS off if you want to kill everything.

4. Google sync, Data and Gmail

You may want to keep most of Google sync settings enabled for Gmail, Contacts, Calendar and other things, though if you do not need the Gmail syncing emails every minute, you can change that, you can set the Gmail app to check the emails whenever you can like. To do this follow the steps below
  • Go to Settings
  • Click on General and you will be directed to Accounts
  • Select Google
  • After selecting account, you will see the sync options
Google syncing everything from browsing history, music saving application data can be nice though it lowers the battery life. You can disable this when the battery level is low and enable it when the phone is charging or over WiFi only.
