A new survey that has been released at the beginning of this week shows that Samsung Electronics is the second time in 2 years Asia’s top brand, chosen out of over 1000 companies, topping important rivals like Apple.

Firms like Campaign Asia-Pacific and Nielsen ran Asia’s Top 1000 Brands report and found that Samsung has grown its popularity this year even more than in 2012 when it was first named the top brand.
The report suggested that Samsung is first in 8 out of 12 markets: Singapore, China, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, comparing to last year, when the tech giant was the top brand in 5 markets – South Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
Samsung, one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers, has developed its brand popularity in Asia these last 10 years. From 2004 until now, the company has only gone up, topping Sony, Apple and other giant manufacturers.
On the other hand, the runner-up Apple, has the title of top brand for two markets – Japan and Australia. Also on top, following Samsung and Apple, there are Sony and Panasonic, originated in Japan, and Nestle from Switzerland.
Even though consumers love it and make it more and more popular, Samsung had to lose in terms of investors, as we recently reported, the manufacturer’s share price dropped 4% and did not fulfill analysts’ predictions.
It’s safe to appreciate the fact that Asian manufacturers are occupying the first positions in the top of brands, emphasizing the evolution of this continent in the business.
