Samsung has decided on their strategy on how to enhance their software portfolio which so strongly sets them apart from the competition. They are going to host another global competition aimed at developers that know how to build an app. The contest is focusing on creating cool apps for the company's Galaxy devices, mostly for the Galaxy S4.Samsung planned this really well , as they are willing to pay a total of $800.000 to 10 winning developers. Samsung can really set itself apart from the competition with some cool software features, as they already did with the Galaxy S4 and all it's cool features. Software is very often what sets manufacturers apart from each other, also being one reason why they decide to replace the pure stock Android with their own modified versions with TouchWix for example.Samsung's President said about the competition:"We will continue to encourage mobile developers to develop new and innovative applications with newly-launched features of our Galaxy series"Indeed , they are supporting the mobile developers, and offering them a whole lot of money, but guess how much Samsung has to win after such a competition. The contest is mostly based on developing apps that working with Samsung's Group Play feature. The judges will select the winners and then split the $800.000 prize pool among them.However all the developers have the chance to pitch their app to Samsung Venture Investment, and if it is really good they can get a really nice deal from Samsung.
