Augmented reality apps are the future, and the future is already at the doorstep for Pokémon fans. Nintendo has recently rolled out the highly anticipated Pokémon GO for Android and iOS in the US, New Zealand, and Australia. While the official release is awaited by millions of fans worldwide, you can get Pokémon go for Android right now.
Step 1: Enable “Unknown Sources” on your Android device
Although Pokémon GO is not yet available in most countries, you can play it by manually installing the app. Hence, you need to activate the ability to install downloaded apps directly without Google Play Store.
Before you can install the Pokémon GO game, head over to the Settings app on your Android device. Scroll down to find the Security tab and access it, find “Unknown Sources” and tap on the toggle switch next to it.
Step 2: Download Pokémon GO for Android
Open the link given below on your Android device and press the “Download APK” button to get the Pokémon GO app. You can also download the .APK file on your computer and transfer it to your Android device. However, it is important to note that this is not the official source for the game, so proceed with caution.
Press the .APK file that you have downloaded and you will be greeted with the installation screen. Press “Install” on the screen and then press “Done” once the installation process has been completed.
You will be able to see the Pokémon GO app icon on your home screen now, but make sure you enable Location Services on your Android before you try “catch em all”.
