When Motorola was purchased by Lenovo, experts suspected that it would be the end of the brand that once ruled the mobile market. However, the brand has flourished in the past couple of years, now with the availability of Android Nougat for Moto G4 and G4 Plus.There were reports leaked earlier that Motorola is soak testing Android Nougat for Moto G4 and G4 Plus. Since almost all OEM Android brands have their own version of Android Nougat in the works, the new seems anything but normal.

But the fact that Motorola’s budget flagship devices of the year – Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are the first in line to receive the latest version Android, is an impressive feat. Surprisingly, the flagship device Moto Z and its variants are still waiting for their dose of Android Nougat.The official announcement of Android Nougat for Moto G4 and G4 Plus was made on the Motorola India website. There is no clear indication on whether the update will be rolling out in stages across different regions. What's my model number?

There are several ways to locate your model number:

Option 1
On your device, go to Settings, then "About device" and scroll down to "Model number"
Option 2
Often times you can view the model number inside the device, by removing the battery
Option 3
Using Samsung's model/serial number location tool
