Tired of losing your phone, wallet or keys? Don’t Panic. You just need to attach a coin-sized TrackR bravo to any of your items and then used the TrackR application to locate your item in seconds. You can also activate a siren to make it easy to find the lost item.

Price

You can purchase a TrackR Bravo at £24.99 on Amazon through there are some seller who have discounted it to £19.99. It also comes with a choice of rose gold, blue, black or ‘steel’. The item can also be found at John Lewis and Argos.

Features and setup

One of the features that makes the Bravo unique is separation alerts. The TrackR Bravo has a replaceable battery that can last a year. The only downside with it is that it isn’t waterproof. It approximately 30mm or a little more in diameter but it is thicker than an average house key at 3.5 millimeters. It is small enough to easily attach it to a keyring. Moreover, it also has an adhesive sticker so that you can be able to attach it to a flat object.

Set up

The device requires a setup process that is quite similar to Bluetooth gadgets. You need to turn the TrackR Bravo on for the first time through the button and then wait till it is displayed on the Bluetooth devices list on your smartphone and then tap it to pair. This small handset works every time it is needed to. You are only required to tap on the speaker in the TrackR application, assuming the Bravo is nearby. It should also be connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Once the speaker icon is tapped, it emits an alarm that helps you track it.The Bluetooth connectivity range depends on which smartphone you are using. The range can also be affected big obstacles such as walls. However, in theory this should not matter as the TrackR application allows you to configure separation alerts. It has two options, your smartphone can ring whenever it moves away from TrackR or the TrackR can beep once it’s separated from your smartphone. The separation alerts can be disabled for ‘safe’ networks. This can be done by adding your work and home Wi-Fi network and you won’t get any alerts when your device is connected to them. However, this means that you will not know if you accidentally leave your tracker or phone behind when you leave the ‘safe’ places.

Crowd GPS

TrackR also has a crowdsourcing feature known as ‘Crowd GPS’ that is pretty good. TrackR can also use all people using the TrackR application to keep tabs on other TrackRs anonymously. So in case you drop your keys and you happen to miss the separation alerts, there is a chance that another person with the TrackR app will come within range of your Bravo. You will then get an alert showing its location.
