The CyagongenMod 12.1 snapshot has taken a while since it was last released. Usually these CyanogenMod 12.1 receives these snapshots at least once per month, but this time round, the developer team took up to 2 months to launch the latest snapshot, but currently, its already out.

If you didn’t know what a snapshot is, then you should know it’s not a picture. To put it simply, CyanogenMod snapshots are often a level between a stable firmware version and a nightly. The included features have been tested and thus are mostly viable for use, although there may still be some bugs popping up.

As it is common with these roll outs, the latest CyanogenMod 12.1 snapshot is presently only accessible to a selection of devices. And in particular, the Motorola variants. These will feature the Moto X 2013, Moto Maxx, the Droid Maxx and the Droid Ultra. However, we expect more devices to be featured in the coming weeks or months.

It is important to note that tinkering with your device may result in damages such as a void warranty or a bricked phone. Therefore, if you don’t have extensive knowledge on what CyanogenMod is, then never attempt to flash it into your phone.
